Expert Opinion

Citroen's first ever SUV is a competent and sedate car, which, with seven seats, car-like handling and plenty of practical space, is positioned well within the softoader, family car market. In this way its most obvious competitors are the Honda CR-V and the Hyundai Santa Fe, although the C-Crosser arguably boasts a sleeker, more stylish design. Pick of the engine options is the 2.2 litre diesel, which offers up 156bhp, smooth performance and a refined ride. Although some body roll comes out of corners taken at high speed, there's plenty of grip and dynamic handling which make it drive and feel more like a car than its similarly bulky contemporaries. Having now been replaced by the C4 Aircross, the C Crosser is only available as a used option; albeit an excellent value used option.
